Ad Astra

Meditative, but bizarre choices keep the film from being good. I can only recommend this to sci-fi completionists, everyone else can move on.
Thoughts
There's not much to say, really. It was interesting, and even meditative, but the plot just wasn't very interesting.
I did enjoy the suggestion that we truly are alone in the universe. Suspending disbelief that we could indeed scan the whole universe, it's a pretty scary thought that we're all alone. Eventually humanity will need to find a way out of the solar system to prolong its collective life, but knowing that all other planets are effectively uninhabitable invites existential dread. I appreciated the film for that, if nothing else.
